Data Center Operations designs, installs & maintains the world's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure.We are looking for skilled Data Center Technician with a passion for technology to help us expand our Cloud to the next level.
This role is a unique opportunity to work in some of the most cutting-edge data centers in the world. Amazon data centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will be working on changing the face of Cloud technology in the region.
The Datacenter Technician may be the primary point of contact for both internal customers (for example: Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, etc..) and external customers (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers among others).

Key job responsibilities
Problem Solving:
• Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently, serving as an escalation point and technical troubleshooter for systems and network hardware problems.
• Investigate and resolve complex Linux server issues.
• Troubleshoot XEN service virtualization problems.
Technical:
• Troubleshoot technical issues across systems, networking, and power/mechanical domains.
• Remediate physical layer outages in systems and networks, including power-related problems.
• Participate in data center power and cooling events.
Operations:
• Work rotating shifts to meet 24/7 on-call requirements.
• Install and configure server racks per internal SLAs.
• Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in the assigned region.
• Act as the data center point of contact for high-severity issues.
• Replace server and network device parts as needed.
• Ensure correct rotation of spare parts.
• Contribute to uptime improvement metrics.
• Enforce Amazon's security best practices.
• Interact with third-party vendors, contractors, and remote hands/eyes.
Project Management:
• Participate in and deliver high-impact small to mid-scale projects.
• Attend team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates.
• Contribute to building the world's largest cloud infrastructure.
Mentoring:
• Share knowledge and educate less technical staff on best practices.
