Role: OCC & Engineering Manager
Location: Central London
Salary: Up to £65,000
Are you an experienced leader in critical environments with a strong background in data centres and facilities management? My client, a global leader in workplace solutions, is seeking an OCC & Engineering Manager to take full accountability for the performance and efficiency of their Operations Control Centre (OCC).
About the Role:
As the OCC & Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure, ensuring compliance, and driving operational excellence. This role involves supervising a team, managing risk, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency across data centre and building management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage staff, operations, and maintenance of the OCC, including BMS and EMS systems.
Lead the OCC team, ensuring compliance with disciplinary processes and fostering a high-performing culture.
Oversee maintenance of M&E systems, building fabric, and infrastructure within the campus.
Respond to BMS alarms and provide critical information to client service desks and senior management.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage subcontractor activities, including supervision, documentation, and quality checks.
Produce and present operational reports, including root cause analysis and performance metrics.
Provide leadership in developing emergency/contingency procedures for critical systems.About You:
HV Authorised Person (HVAP) qualification is essential.
Formal electrical or mechanical training (City & Guilds Level or higher preferred).
Strong experience in data centres or critical environments, with a track record in leadership roles.
Solid understanding of BMS systems, CAFM software, and operational best practices.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure while managing high-priority tasks.What's in it for You?
