Civil Engineer

Job Description
We're looking for someone with a background in civil or structural engineering, preferably with experience in designing civil and structural assets for consultancies or contractors. It’d be great if you're familiar with quality assurance processes that help ensure everything is running smoothly.
What You’ll Do:
Report to the Company Director when needed.
Carry out detailed design calculations using the latest Eurocodes.
Oversee design delivery for a variety of projects and assets.
Coordinate detailed design drawings and prepare specs for tenders and construction.
Help deliver top-notch solutions across different sectors for our clients and stakeholders.
Manage the team’s projects and resources, making smart decisions about budget spending as things change.
Work with both internal and external design teams to get civil design solutions done on time and within budget.
Conduct technical and feasibility studies, including site investigations.
Use various computer programs to create detailed designs and perform complex calculations.
Chat with clients and collaborate with architects and subcontractors.
Put together job specs and oversee the tendering process.
Solve any design and development issues that come up.
Handle budgets and project resources, scheduling material and equipment purchases and deliveries.
Ensure the project meets legal requirements, especially regarding health and safety.
Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of projects.
Make sure everything runs smoothly, and all structures are completed on time and within budget.
What You Bring:
Great communication skills, both written and spoken in English.
A current UK driving licence.
Solid experience in civil engineering design for infrastructure and drainage.
Some structural design experience with materials like concrete, steel, masonry, and timber would be a bonus.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Civils3D.
Familiarity with software like Tekla Tedds, Structural Designer, or Masterseries is a plus.
Ability to work independently but also reach out for help when needed.
Organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines and budgets.
Commitment to personal development and a professional image with clients and colleagues.
Integrity and several years of relevant experience in the UK, including familiarity with Eurocodes and British Standards.
A collaborative spirit to build strong working relationships with team members and clients.
Openness to learning new processes and software and stepping in wherever necessary
