We are currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher for a reputable secondary school in Derby. This temporary, full-time role requires a start as soon as possible and offers the chance to inspire students through to the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will join a forward-thinking department and play a key role in delivering high-quality Computer Science lessons, fostering students' interest and skills in this essential field.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and innovative Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 based on experience.
* Develop students' knowledge and skills in computing, programming, and problem-solving, promoting critical thinking and digital literacy.
* Prepare and assess coursework, providing constructive feedback to help students progress.
* Work collaboratively with other department members to contribute to curriculum planning and development.
* Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that meets the needs of diverse learners.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
* Experience teaching Computer Science at secondary school level.
* Sound understanding of the UK curriculum and current assessment practices in Computer Science.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
* Passion for technology and digital education, along with a commitment to student success.
