About the opportunity

To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations, we currently have an opportunity within our Digital team for a Geospatial Solution Architect.

You would join a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for a fantastic candidate to join the quickly growing Digital team here at Jacobs - responsible for driving new ways of working and product incubation across a range of varied sectors with a focus on Water and Environment. You will be part of our world class Digital Factory; a cross functional team of data scientists, developers and geospatial experts driving new technologies and ways of working within the business.

Working with ESRI, Open Source GIS software and Cloud architecture you will lead on designing and implementing complex applications to support our wide range of market sectors and delivery teams.

  • Full time employment with us is based on 40 hours per week
  • This role can be based on a Hybrid basis from any of our key UK hub offices (Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow, London, Leeds or Winnersh)
Here's what you'll need
  • Ability to transform complex user requirements into a technical architecture, produce architectural documentation using standard approaches and design, integrate and implement technical solutions
  • Ability to challenge current thinking with innovative solutions to technical requirements, to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff and to road map the evolution of a solution to formulate a plan for its long term development
  • Experience of agile methodologies, Cloud architecture (Azure and AWS), implementing security standards to protect data and software solutions
  • Modern approaches to user identities and authentication
  • Version control and code collaboration tools such as git / GitHub / Azure Dev Ops / Pipelines / Continuous Integration
  • Ability to automate using appropriate languages ie Python / Powershell etc
