Role – Station Grade (Shunter) Shift & Relief
Contract – Permanent

Not your average role….
This role is an exciting opportunity to work within our industry ensuring that our trains depart from the depot at the right time. This role has responsibility for carrying out shunting duties, yard movements, yard safety checks and tanking duties within the depot liaising with third party contractors. The duties of this role are carried out predominantly outside in all weathers and involves manual labour.

* Experience of following rules and instructions
* An understanding of Management of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems although full training will be provided in relation to this aspect.

Hours of work: 35-hour week, working early, mid, late and night shifts. Weekend working involved. Reference salary £32,845 per annum, Training salary £22,147 per annum.
Selection Process
Selection process: Candidates short-listed will be invited to attend an assessment centre. Following assessment successful candidates will be invited to attend a competency-based interview. The final stage for successful candidates will be a medical examination and drug & alcohol screening. Appointees must submit at least two satisfactory references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and complete a six-month probation period. Training initially involves a 2-day virtual induction Training Programme.
Medical Fitness: Due to the nature of the post and rail industry safety requirements there are certain medical & fitness standards that you would require to meet.
