Job Description
Position: English Teacher
Location: Newbury
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week; Monday – Friday
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Start Date: ASAP
About the School:
We are currently seeking a passionate English teacher to join a specialist school in Newbury. The school is dedicated to providing exceptional education and care for children and young people with diverse needs, including Social and Emotional Mental Health difficulties (SEMH). With a strong commitment to high standards, we prioritise the well-being and development of every student, ensuring they have the best possible future.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a forward-thinking and adaptable English Teacher who is dedicated to continual growth and innovation in teaching. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in maintaining high expectations and standards, along with exceptional proficiency in behavioural management. An advantage would be a talent for creating engaging and immersive curriculum plans.
Experience in working with young learners facing diverse learning challenges is advantageous. The successful candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of how these challenges impact learning dynamics and behaviour in the classroom. Specialised knowledge and practical experience with students struggling with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties would be highly beneficial.
Candidates with middle leadership experience, gained in mainstream educational settings or relevant contexts, are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in the assessment, planning, and delivery of English across KS3/KS4 is a prerequisite.
Above all, we are looking for someone who can actively contribute to our school's growth and inspire the young minds under our care. This role offers an opportunity for the successful candidate to refine their expertise and gain valuable experience in a dynamic, motivating, and exceptionally fulfilling setting. While prior experience in a SEN environment is advantageous, possessing outstanding support skills, along with the right motivation, personal attributes, and resilience levels, holds equal importance.
