Electrical Maintenance Technician
Contract: Healthcare

The Electrical Maintenance Technician at Prospect Park Hospital will be responsible for a broad range of essential maintenance tasks that ensure safe, uninterrupted facility operations.
Job Description
The role includes Planned Preventative Maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, and Breakdown Maintenance across the hospital, requiring a strong skill set in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.
As part of your responsibilities, you will occasionally act as the liaison for specialist contractors working on the hospital's Low Voltage (LV) systems.
This is a large and well-regarded site, offering a supportive and experienced team known within the area for its strong contract and commitment to quality service.
Key duties include maintaining building systems and equipment such as lighting (with emergency lighting), power circuits, low-voltage switchgear, fire alarms, emergency generators, battery systems, HVAC, boiler controls, fire safety equipment, and nurse call systems.

Key Responsibilities
* Maintain lighting systems, power circuits, low voltage switchgear, fire alarms, emergency generators, and battery systems
* Service air conditioning, heating controls, boiler controls, and related equipment
* Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers, firefighting equipment, nurse call systems, and portable equipment
* Conduct maintenance on laundry and cleaning machines
* Perform new installations as needed, including conduit, MICC, trunking, and distribution systems
* Collaborate effectively with other trades for department flexibility
* Interpret electrical installation plans and drawings
* Attend training courses as required by management
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* FM Site Experience: Handling PPMs and reactive works across electrical systems in commercial/healthcare settings
* Electrical Maintenance Skills: Proficient with lighting, switchgear, power circuits, fire alarms, and HVAC controls
* Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of regulations, risk assessments, and safe practices
* Required Qualifications: City & Guilds Level 3, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, ideally Inspection & Testing (2394/5)
