Job Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well established company based in the Burnley area who are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity working for an excellent company who are offering a competitive salary with fantastic benefits.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer supports the day to day running and management of the site(s) QMS by leading Corrective actions and RCA investigations for both internal and customer-initiated non-conformance’s and working with all departments to ensure compliance and Quality Improvement of Products/Services and Processes.
Duties & responsibilities include the following:
* Provide corrective action and root cause analysis leadership for machine shop, assembly, supplier, and field service issues.
* Work closely with Quality Inspectors, Supply chain, Engineering/Design and Production staff to understand issues and conduct RCA.
* Ensure CA are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including ensuring all training and change activities are fully closed out to prevent issue recurrence.
* Complete detailed reports and ensure document control requirements and records are maintained.
* Assist/Conduct audit programs and activities (internal and external).
* Provide QE cover and support to all areas of the business as necessary.
* Improve Customer satisfaction and progressive improvement of Business KPI’s.
EXPERIENCE:
* Experience of precision engineering and assembly operations, equipment and capabilities is highly desirable.
* Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings & customer specifications is essential.
* Experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS) is highly desirable.
* Training/Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
* Experience of working with supply chain and suppliers is highly desirable.
* Application of measurement, analysis, or continuous improvement tools.
* PC literate - capable user of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint & experience of MRP and ERP systems, use of IFS is desirable.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
* High level reporting and data interrogation capabilities.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects/objectives effectively.
* Professional presentation and communication skills when presenting to Leadership, Customers, Auditors and Suppliers.
* Strong organization, planning, and action plan execution capabilities.
* Ability to motivate, drive collaboration and facilitate quality improvement.
* Resilient in enforcing quality requirements within compressed timescales.
* Ability to resolve problems using structured techniques.
* A capable and multi-skilled quality engineer with a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to support the business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Basic Management Systems qualifications/experience – ISO9001 / 14001 / 45001.
* Trained Internal Auditor certification or relevant experience is highly desirable.
Hours of work + benefits
* Monday – Friday 40 hours per week with a flexi-time scheme with a early finish on a Friday.
* 264 hours holiday per year, pro rata. Includes bank holidays and Christmas closure.
* Health cash plan.
* Profit share scheme.
