Job Description
Band 6 Remote Mental Health Occupational Therapist
The Initial focus will be on screening patients/clients who are on an established waiting list and to identify the patient/client’s needs are within the scope of Primary Care OT, with focus on ensuring safety of those waiting e.g on a ward referral/escalating of unmet risks. Candidates will need robust experience in MH Community.
Required but not limited to
• Significant level of experience within mental health community services as OT.
• Able to work to own initiative but within scope and boundaries of own skills and remit of team
• Able to undertake OT assessment to identifying strengths and challenges of clients functional abilities.
• Able to effectively access risk and manage risk through both direct work and onward referral
• Experience designing and undertaking brief recovery focused interventions, psycho education etc to meet individual needs identified at assessment.
• Effective communication skills with clients, MDT and wider stakeholders
• Ability work flexibly engaging with and supporting service developments
• Car driver with access to own car for work purposes and business insurance
Post will require working from home but also ability to attend community sites and clients homes as needed.
