About the Role
We are looking for a creative and dedicated Art & Photography Teacher to join our team on a permanent basis. This role involves delivering high-quality, engaging lessons in Art and Photography, supporting students in developing their artistic skills and creative expression. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for the arts, a solid knowledge of both disciplines, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art & Photography lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
Inspire students to explore their creativity and develop technical skills in both traditional art forms and digital photography.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support where needed.
Manage and maintain art and photography resources and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.
Collaborate on curriculum planning, bringing contemporary and diverse perspectives to the Art & Photography program.
Participate actively in department meetings, exhibitions, parents' evenings, and school events.
Uphold school policies, including safeguarding, and contribute positively to the school's ethos and values.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Proven experience teaching Art & Photography at secondary level, ideally up to GCSE level.
Strong subject knowledge in Art and Photography, with proficiency in both digital and traditional techniques.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Commitment to inspiring and motivating students in their artistic journeys.
Desirable Qualities
Experience teaching A-Level Art & Photography is advantageous.
Familiarity with a range of artistic media and digital editing software.
Interest in integrating current trends, diverse cultural perspectives, and emerging technologies into teaching practices.
