Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Consulting with clients to understand their requirements
Conducting feasibility studies to vet proposed projects
Calculating quantities and costs for materials, labour, and timeframes
Preparing tender packages and contracts, including bills of quantities
Managing risk, value engineering, and cost control measures
Analysing repair and maintenance costs
Negotiating contracts and schedules
Overseeing and valuing subcontractors' work for payments
Ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards
Continually assessing value for the client's investment
Analysing outcomes and providing budget and progress reports
Advising on claims, disputes, and any contractual issues
Job Requirements:
Experience in quantity surveying, particularly within the highways sector
Strong knowledge of cost estimation, material needs calculation, and project timeline mapping
Understanding of procurement, tendering, and contract administration
Ability to conduct feasibility studies and provide lifecycle costing
Excellent negotiation and risk management skills
Proficiency in preparing tender packages and managing subcontractor payments
Strong analytical skills to assess project outcomes and provide progress reports
Knowledge of relevant legal and quality standards
