Position: SEND Teacher
Location: St Austell, Cornwall
Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 (Plus £2,539 SEND allowance)
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time
Start Date: September 2024
About the role
Vision for Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming SEND school in St Austell who, due to school expansion, are seeking to recruit a Teacher for a permanent vacancy. We welcome applications from teachers with SEND education experience and/or mainstream teachers looking to transition into SEND education.
The main purpose of the role is to provide inspirational and outstanding teaching whilst nurturing a safe, secure, and caring educational environment. The role will comprise of planning and teaching Maths lessons across KS1 and KS2
The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching learners with SEND (predominantly ASC) and will form part of a staff team who put young people at the heart of everything they do.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Planning and delivery of high-quality teaching & learning that follows the national curriculum
Meet the pastoral needs of young people
Form positive relationships with young people, parents/carers, and colleagues
Show pro-active commitment to continuing personal professional development
Meeting the individual educational needs of young people
The school provides education for young people aged 5 to 117 that have a EHCP.
They believe all children and young people are entitled to a nurturing environment that demonstrates care, empathy, and support to help young people identify positive aspects of their everyday lives.
Requirements include:
Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS
Experience working with young people with SEND / ASC (desirable)
The ability to engage and motivate young people
Understanding multi agency working and collaboration with parents/carers
A passion for making a difference to the lives and education of young people with SEND
