Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) - Wolverhampton - £40,000 to £65,000

You will be working for a leading M&E contractor that has continued to grow into one of the largest M&E contractors in the UK. They work on a variety of different projects which include; commercial, industrial and high-end residential. They have a strong pipeline of work and are looking for the right people to join their team for this continued growth.Your new role

• Designing in conjunction with fire strategy reports, local building regulations & planning authority requirements.
• Attending Design team meetings.
• Carrying out site surveys of existing installations where applicable.
• Producing heating/cooling (thermal modelling) and ventilation load calculations using industry software
• Sizing and selection of AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers etc
• Producing above ground drainage calculations and sizing of drainage systems
• Sizing and selection of domestic hot and cold-water equipment (heaters, storage tanks etc)
• Producing pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or other desktop spreadsheets
• Sizing and selection of firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not essential)
• Producing stage reports & presentations.
• Preparing Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation Reports
• Detailing mechanical layouts & schematics for build.
• Meeting project delivery deadlines.
• Production of detailed design and survey reports.

What you'll need to succeed
Extensive experience in the
Mechanical Engineering building services for constructionMechanical Engineering Degree or equivalentGood knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS &EN Irish, UK standards or ASHRAE.Working knowledge of design software such as Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TAS requiredAbility to work in a rapidly changing environment.Strong communication skillsWhat you'll get in return
Salary of £40,000 to £65,000
