BEMS Design Engineer – London - £75,000
A fantastic opportunity for a Project engineer to join a nationwide BEMS Company to provide engineering and commercial leadership in creating fully designed BEMS and EPMS within the Data Centre sector.
The BEMS Project Engineer (Design) position
In this position, you will create proactive culture to all their stakeholders including the principal contractor team, clients, consultants, and relevant contractors to facilitate the flow of information and agreement on the design solution. Resolve conflict and provide ownership of the construction process from RIBA level 4 to level 7.
Main responsibilities
Implementing the BMS or EPMS design from specifications and client requirements
Implementation of statutory requirements into the design of the BMS or EPMS solution
Create BMS or EPMS points list for the project
Create description of operations for all plant and equipment including chilled water, air plant, water systems, electrical services and data suites.
Optimise selection of controllers based on project specifics and commercial targets.
Create system topology incorporating all bms controllers and third-party devices utilising design requirements, cyber security, refresh rates, commissionabilty, quality, costs and safety
Ownership of the panel and field wiring drawings production
Manage the technical aspects of the panel production and electrical installation
selection of all field devices based on specifications and commercial targets.
Own the BMS/EPMS design risk register and all associated design processes
confirm all drawings and documents are shared within the digital engineering environment
Provide the BMS/EPMS technical authority through the full construction phase including commissioning.
Implement smart technologies/DCIM specification requirements
Review and update the digital engineering model to position all equipment and mitigate any coordination issues. own coordination of the electrical installation including control panels and third-party products.
Manage the technical submittals process both contractors and clients.
Ensuring handover of fully operational BMS/EPMS
Business and commercial expertise
Skills required
Electrical Engineering qualifications (full electrical apprenticeship or equivalent)
Proven track record of delivering BEMS systems specifically Schneider, Tridium
Exceptional technical knowledge of BEMS
Experience working with BACNET and Modbus
Ability to understand system software and graphics
Valid CSCS or ECS site card
Salary package
Competitive salary up to £75,000 depending on experience
Car allowance circa £6,000
Additional travel / living allowance if you live more 75 miles away from the site
