Job Description:
TeacherActive is recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a highly respected and thriving primary school in Streatham. The school is known for its diverse and supportive environment, aiming for high academic standards and fostering a love for life-long learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils under the direction of the class teacher/SENCo to facilitate access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Work one-on-one with a child if required, maintaining a full-time and regular timetable.
- Assist in planning and assessment, providing clear feedback on children's progress.
- Support the learning and well-being of children with special educational needs (SEND).
- Be an effective play facilitator and playground supervisor.
- Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with children of relevant age.
- Participation in development and training opportunities.
- Ability to set high expectations to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
- Commitment to raising standards of children’s learning and attainment.
- Ability to support children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD.
- Proactive, energetic, effective, and flexible.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
