BMS Project Manager – West London - £85,000
A fantastic opportunity to join a market leading Building Management Systems house as their BMS Project Manager for work on a data centre.
The BMS Project Manager Position
In this role, you will be overseeing the packages and overseeing the subcontractors. To be successful in this role, you will have experience managing larger scale projects in excess of £0.5m to £5m. This will be a project-based role 5 days a week.
Role Overview
To manage the construction phase of specialist Building Management Systems and Controls on major flagship projects
Interpret and understand the scope of works from sales handover to filter through to the necessary project support team
To take the project from handover through design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and soft-landing period of the BEMS package
Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget to a satisfied customer
Responsible for the commercial performance of the project including the preparation and submission of variations, and agreement of the same
Overall responsibility for health and safety management on all managed projects
Monitor, review and report on the project against the overall project programme on progress, delays and any necessary resourcing amendments to the customer, Operations Manager, and other support staff as deemed necessary by the project management team
Manage and agree the appropriate purchase and sub-contract orders as required on the projects, manage and review applications for payments and applied for variations of any placed sub contract orders
Ensure standard documents are continually used and maintained. These include but are not restricted to Schedule of Deliverables, Project Interface Schedules, Project Dashboard, Functional Design Specifications, Points Schedules, Panel Drawings, Technical submittals, RFI’s, etc
Work in a high pressure and fast-moving environment
To undertake other duties as required
Liaise with Operations Manager, Project Engineers, other staff, subcontractors and clients as required to carry out this role
Adhere to all company policies & procedures, particularly to health & safety.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Proven track record of project management in the construction industry with experience in BEMS and controls systems, M&E etc.
Experience in producing and managing a programme of works
Significant experience working to budgets of £0.5m - £5m
Data centre experience would be an added advantage but not essential
Experience of managing health and safety in a construction environment
Ability to communicate at all levels
Valid CSCS or ECS site card
Salary and Benefits Package
Competitive salary up to £85,000 depending on experience
Car allowance circa £6,000
Additional travel / living allowance if you live more 75 miles away from the site
