Role: IT Manager
Location: Belfast, on a hybrid basis, we are a collaborative team and enjoy working remotely and in person together.

THE ROLE
The IT Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the IT infrastructure of our scaling consultancy business, including guiding strategy, handling day to day IT operations and enhancing our consultant's ability to deliver for our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT Systems to facilitate both onsite and remote workers (servers, networks, hardware, software)
Vendor Management & Budget Control
- Manage the relationship with our third-party managed service provider
- Control IT budget, optimise spending and ensure cost-effective technology investments
Technology Enablement
- Support the assessment and introduction of new and existing technologies to improve internal operational efficiencies and enhance the consulting team's delivery capabilities
Technology Strategy
- Align IT solutions with business objectives and compliance requirements
- Design and establish IT policies and systems that reflect organisational priorities and align to security and governance requirements
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure IT policies meet regulatory compliance standards, especially related to GDPR and ISO 27001 standards.
- Manage risks related to IT Operations, data privacy and system integrity
Staff Training and Development
- Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and efficient use of IT tools
- Lead internal IT training programs and support IT skill development
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Develop and test operational resilience and disaster recovery plans
- Ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or cyber-attacks.
AI and Automation
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identity opportunities to integrate AI solutions into business operations
- Evaluate, implement and manage AI tools to enhance productivity and service delivery
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
The IT Manager needs to be adaptable and driven individual, used to working in fast paced environments, with key previous experience performing Information Technology Management duties within a consultancy or professional services setting.
- 5 + years' experience in an IT Manager role, or IT Management duties, preferably within a consulting or professional services firm
- Competence in developing and executing an IT strategy that aligns with broader business objectives, ensuring that IT initiatives directly contribute to the company's success and growth
- Extensive experience of IT Project Management, including budgeting, allocating resources and managing timelines
- Familiarity with relevant ISO standards
- A good understanding of business operations and consulting services to effectively consulting delivery
- Indepth knowledge of managing IT infrastructure, networks and cybersecurity
- Skilled in managing relationships with technology vendors, negotiating contracts, and overseeing service level agreements
- A forward-thinking approach to proactively identify and implement cutting edge technologies, particularly AI and Automation, to improve efficiency, productivity and security
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with vendors, and internal stakeholders.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
