Job Description

Headteacher (SEN/SEMH Provision)

Location: Staffordshire

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Are you a passionate, transformational leader ready to shape the future of a specialist school?

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Headteacher to lead a small but growing SEN/SEMH provision in Staffordshire. The school currently supports fewer than 20 pupils across Key Stages 1 to 3, with plans to expand and positively impact even more students. This is a unique opportunity to build on an established foundation and to create an inclusive, nurturing, and ambitious learning environment.

As Headteacher, you will lead our dedicated team in delivering high-quality, individualised education to children and young people with special educational needs, particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This role requires a visionary and compassionate leader capable of setting high standards, inspiring innovation, and driving school improvement.

You will work closely with staff, pupils, families, and stakeholders to promote a positive culture that supports each student’s academic and personal growth. With our plans to expand, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the school, including increasing enrollment and developing the school’s profile as a leading SEN/SEMH provider in the region.

Essential Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within an SEN/SEMH specialist setting.
  • Educational Expertise: Strong understanding of best practices in SEN/SEMH education, especially in Key Stages 1-3.
  • Transformational Leadership: Proven track record of successful school improvement and capacity-building in an SEN/SEMH environment.
  • Commitment to Excellence: Passionate about creating a supportive, high-achievement culture for students and staff.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary up to £70,000 per annum.
  • Opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people with SEMH needs.

If you are ready to bring your expertise and drive to a small yet ambitious SEN/SEMH school and lead its next chapter of development, please get in touch!
