Senior Legal Counsel

Our client is renowned for its innovation and excellence in the defence sector. With a strong market reputation and a commitment to delivering outstanding quality; they are seeking a Senior commercial and/or corporate Lawyer to join their legal team.

About the opportunity:

This is a broad legal and commercial role reflecting the innovative multi-disciplinary approach of the business. This high-profile role will provide legal advice and support to the business on commercial and operational matters. The role will require the candidate to manage a broad spectrum of commercial legal work. The successful candidate will be able to engage with colleagues in a diverse range of functions and backgrounds. As well as negotiating, advising on a wide range of contractual arrangements. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on regulatory issues, including nuclear, health and safety and product liability. Helping to drive improvements in business processes and participating in delivery training on legal and contractual issues.

The candidate must bring a proactive, business and solution-oriented mindset to legal matters and a proven ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and the wider legal team.

About you:

The successful candidate will have at least 6 PQE, having trained in a top UK law firm. You will Experience of public procurement projects and/or UK defence sector contracting is desirable. Experience working in regulatory environments would be advantageous. Familiarity with key standard form of high value commercial contracts is desirable. Ideally you would have experience of working in a fast-paced in-house environment. This role would suit someone who is commercially astute, pragmatic and who thrives in a collegiate and supportive environment.
