Role Overview:
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design efforts for water industry projects while managing a multi-disciplinary design team. This role supports hybrid working arrangements, requiring in-person collaboration at the office approximately 2-3 days per week. You will oversee projects related to water and wastewater infrastructure, guiding them from feasibility studies through to detailed construction designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop innovative concept designs aligned with project briefs.
Execute comprehensive design work across various mechanical systems.
Ensure high technical standards and compliance with client requirements.
Manage design outputs and coordinate with local teams and other engineering offices.
Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
Maintain adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Oversee project management, including resource allocation and budgeting.
Foster strong client relationships and ensure effective communication of project progress.Skills & Experience Required:
Proven ability to produce and approve detailed mechanical designs for complex systems.
Strong knowledge of sewage and clean water processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on practical engineering solutions.
Familiarity with civil and electrical engineering principles is advantageous.
Experience in leading multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Willingness to travel as required
