Superb opportunities for a talented Quantity Surveyor with a carpentry and joinery subcontracting background
Our Client, based in The City of London, is a specialist carpentry & joinery contractor with over 25 years’ experience and committed service to the Construction Industry. The company predominately tenders for work involving supply and fix carpentry and joinery, commercial fit out work, traditional & truss roofing.
They are currently recruiting an organised and motivated Quantity Surveyor to manage all commercial aspects of each project under their control. Other responsibilities will include:
* Identify new supply chain partners. Issue supply chain questionnaire and establish on the database.
* Assist with the estimating team where required on new tenders.
* Full commercial reporting and procurement control over projects.
* Produce information for commercial reporting internally and externally – including procurement schedules, financial reports and forecast final accounts.
* Manage all contractual commercial issues from tender handover to project completion including review of order prior to acceptance and any contractual notices.
* Produce valuations; applications for payment; payment certificates and forecast final accounts.
* Represent company at Client meetings.
* Tender work packages and establish best value.
* Procurement of subcontractors.
* Price variations and assess the value of subcontract values.
* Maintain an organized and efficient document system in line with Company procedures.
* Work in close partnership with Project Teams (Contract Managers, Site Supervisors and Subcontractors).
* Establish good relationships with client counterparts to manage the commercial process.
* Regular visits to site to establish commercial position; review works completed; joint valuations with Clients and suppliers; assess additional works or change impact.
* Mentor and develop less senior staff.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will have several years’ surveying experience and the ability to produce detailed subcontract orders to small and medium trade contractors and have good construction knowledge. Professional manner and ability to produce documentation expected of PLC Clients.
