We are looking for an experienced Sales Director to join our innovative and international team.

At Thorizon, a passionate team of 40 based in Amsterdam and Lyon is committed to advancing a new nuclear power solution using Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) technology. Our purpose is to accelerate the availability of clean and affordable energy and help solve the climate crisis. As we advance our reactor design through analysis, experimentation, and partnerships, we believe in a transparent and collaborative culture where unity and open communication are paramount.

In this role you will:
  • Develop and execute a strategic commercial plan for Thorizon One in Europe in collaboration with the Director of Business Development.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of end-user needs across key segments: nuclear operators/utilities, industrial heat users, data center applications, and government.
  • Identify and map decision-makers within each customer segment to establish a strong sales pipeline, progressing from letters of intent through feasibility studies to contracts.
  • Lead negotiations, structuring deals, and forming strategic partnerships that align with Thorizon’s long-term vision.
  • Represent Thorizon at key industry events, positioning the company as a frontrunner in clean nuclear technology.
  • Implement a CRM-driven sales methodology to monitor and report on sales activities and forecasts.
  • Initially report to the CEO, transitioning to the Chief Commercial Officer as the company scales.
About you:
  • You are a results-oriented strategic thinker with a proven track record of executing long-term, high-value sales cycles in B2B markets within regulated industries such as nuclear, energy, or aerospace.
  • You bring at least 10 years of experience in complex, long-cycle sales and are adept at navigating regulatory landscapes and complex client needs.
  • You are adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment, capable of both high-level strategic thinking and hands-on problem-solving.
  • You have demonstrated success in negotiating and structuring large-scale contracts.
  • You have a master’s degree in engineering, business technology, or a related field.
  • You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to present effectively to executives, senior leadership, government officials, and industry groups.
  • You are fluent in English and French, both spoken and written.
  • You are a self-starter with a passion for clean energy and the drive to contribute to a sustainable, responsible energy future.
