Big Oh Tech - Node.js Developer - Backend Architecture

Job Description : Key Responsibilities : Design and Development : - Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Node.js and NestJS applications. - Create efficient and well-structured code, adhering to best practices and coding standards. - Collaborate with frontend developers to define and implement APIs and data structures. - Implement robust error handling and logging mechanisms. - Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code. Database Engineering : - Design and implement database schemas (SQL/NoSQL) that support business processes. - Optimize database queries and indexes for performance. - Develop database objects (stored procedures, triggers, functions) as needed. - Work with data ingestion, migration, standardization, and analytical consumption needs. Performance Optimization : - Continuously monitor and optimize application performance. - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. - Implement caching strategies and asynchronous programming techniques. - Conduct load testing and performance : - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, backend engineers, and QA engineers. - Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. - Stay up-to-date with the latest Node.js, NestJS, and database technologies. Required Skills and Experience : - Strong proficiency in Node.js and NestJS frameworks. - In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and related technologies. - Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra). - Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development. - Experience with version control systems (Git). - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus. - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with GraphQL and microservices architecture. - Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. - A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.
