Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a project for a 6 month contract. The successful candidate will oversee the design, development, and execution of electrical engineering projects, ensuring all systems and components meet performance specifications and safety standards.
The role will involve working on topsides electrical design and engineering for both greenfield and brownfield developments, up to 13.8kV. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, leading the technical delivery of projects and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Full responsibility for all aspects of assigned electrical systems within the overall project.
* Produce and maintain electrical deliverables such as drawings, BOMs, schedules, specifications, and datasheets. Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications within project schedules.
* Review and check drawings prepared by other engineers, ensuring alignment with calculations, industry standards, and best practices.
* Design electrical systems and products, including switchgear, transformers, instrumentation, MCC, motors, F&G, ESD, LV, HV systems.
* Ensure equipment in hazardous areas is designed in accordance with ATEX/NEC/NFPA or regional regulations.
* Respond to technical queries and provide technical input during pricing and detailed engineering.
* Prepare construction work packs and certification documentation.
* Develop designs for equipment packages and interpret design specifications.
* Work to BS, EN, API, NEC, NEMA, NFPA, and ANSI standards.
* Coordinate with clients and subcontractors; provide reports and presentations.
* Produce design risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation.
* Assist with Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Integration Tests, installation, and commissioning activities.
* Manage procurement queries, technical decisions, and variations to project plans.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Educated to a minimum of HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
* Holder of a full UK driving license.
* Experience in topsides electrical design and engineering for greenfield and brownfield development, up to 13.8kV.
* Experience specifying and purchasing ASD/VSD equipment for downhole pumps.
* Experience specifying and purchasing transformer equipment for offshore installations.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or similar industries.
* Proven success in client-facing interactions and managing stakeholder relationships.
* Experience working to NFPA 70/NEC standards.
* Experience holding and leading technical meetings.
Skills and Attributes:
* Proven understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts, and technical calculations.
* Advanced IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to complete engineering calculations independently and effectively.
* Confident in leading discussions and professionally managing challenging situations
