Job Description
SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant
Do you have experience working with children who face behavioural challenges due to Social Emotional Mental Health conditions? Do you have a calm and positive approach to managing difficult situations?
Veritas Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with children who have behavioural difficulties in a special school setting in Doncaster.
The Role
Supporting students with behavioural challenges, helping them to stay engaged and focused in lessons.
Assist students with severe mental health conditions from past trauma.
Working closely with the teacher to implement behaviour management strategies and interventions.
Assisting in the development and implementation of individualised behaviour support plans.
Providing emotional and social support to students, helping them to manage their emotions and build positive relationships with others.
Working as part of a team to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children with challenging behaviour or additional needs is essential.
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies (e.g. Team Teach) is a plus.
Ability to stay calm and composed in challenging situations, using positive reinforcement.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Application Requirements
