Job Description
AESC is a Japanese headquartered business that operates a 28,000 m2 Electric Vehicle Gigafactory in Sunderland. A second 151,000 m2 Gigafactory – the size of 23 football pitches - is under construction at the International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP), and a planning application has been submitted for a third gigafactory as part of a feasibility study into future UK expansion.
Mission & Main Objectives
- Further develop and benchmark AESC UK Quality Management System which is independently certificated to IATF16949:2016.
- Develop a program of audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct Internal QMS audits to plan.
- Facilitate Quality Management System standardisation in the UK and with other global regions.
Outline and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and further develop the existing Quality Management System to ensure it satisfies the needs of the business.
- Work with Corporate QMS teams to develop group level processes and documentation aligned to certificated standards and industry best practice.
- Co-ordinate and facilitate customer audit and third-party audits (such as certification and surveillance audits).
- Internal audit schedule planning - system/process/product audits across multiple production sites.
- Carry out internal system/process/product audits across multiple production sites.
- Monitor NCR and OFI status including supporting auditee with corrective action/improvement plans.
- Supervise QMS technicians.
- Mentoring and delivery of Quality Management System training as required.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- HNC or equivalent in related Quality Assurance/Systems/engineering or science subject.
- Lead Auditor certification and experience preferred – IATF16949 / VDA6.3 or other certificated/regulated standards
- Extensive experience of Quality Management System - IATF 16949:2016 / ISO9001:2015 / VDA6.3:2023 or other certificated management systems - system implementation, development and maintenance experience
- Experience of third-party audit / customer audit.
- Internal systems audit – experience of planning, conducting, monitoring.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office experience
Other requirements:
- Driving licence and vehicle
- Flexible for UK and occasional overseas travel
- Flexible working (may be requirement for overtime or adjustment of the working day/week during busy periods)
