This is a fantastic opportunity for a Structural Steel & Architectural Metalwork Quntity Surveyor to join a fantastic company in Essex.

About our Client
My client are a fantastic Structural Steel & Architecural Metalwork company based in Essex. That work on projects that consist of Steel framed Buildings, General Building Steels, Balustrades, Staircases, Handrails and secondary steelwork, from design through to fabrication, site delivery and erection.
Duties & Responsibilities
Overseeing and organizing the financial and contractual side of works from tender to completion with key members of the project management and senior management team.
Reviewing the invoices of agreed purchase orders and client bills of quantities.
Regularly review, audit and implement claim strategy regarding all clients.
Continuous monitoring of contracted works to ensure works are undertaken within budget.
Monitoring of variation works, making sure costs agreed prior to starting works and all required communication and substantiation is logged where this is not possible.
Liaising with project management and senior management to ensure works are delivered correctly, in budget & on time while providing support regarding contract management guild lines, standards and processes.
Reading through, commenting and submitting of JCT & NEC contracts for larger projects and ensuring the companies and clients compliance throughout the project’s life span.
Implementing new systems to enable smooth running of works within budget, both in the workshop and on site.
Assisting the estimating / sales team in the tendering process to ensure UK-CA compliance and submission times are met and required information is logged on the system.
Sending enquires to suppliers for steel sections and fixings to gain the best possible prices and lead times, purchasing and logging all information in the job file in line with CE / UK-CA requirements to BS EN 1090.
Ability to communicate face to face, via emails and through reports to senior management every day, regarding project budget status.
Ability to send emails with no prompting from management, chasing RFI’s, backing up verbal discussions and keeping the client updated on progress and variations.
Ability to take projects from pre-construction and clients brief through to final account including site survey, estimating, client presentation and contract delivery
About the Candidate
Minimum of 5 years Quantity Surveying experience.
Good knowledge of JCT & NEC forms of contract.
Vast experience estimating throughout projects changes and variations.
Good knowledge of CDM Building regulations.
Strong negotiation skills.
Good knowledge of UK-CA compliance and company requirements for steelwork fabrication and installation
