I’m currently working with a Council in the Midlands that are seeking an experienced Senior School Improvement Manager for a 4-5 month contract.



In your role as a Senior School Improvement Manager, you will be reporting into the Head of School Standards & Effectiveness. You will be leading the school improvement function for the council, as well as overseeing and directing school improvement in the areas of learning, skills & education. You will also be making sure all of the county's schools are efficient and providing all students with a first-class education.



In order to be considered for this role, you must have a proven track record working within School Improvement (at a senior, managerial level), within a local authority setting.




Your Role as Senior School Improvement Manager:-

  • You will lead the school improvement function for the council

Ensure continuous improvement across all schools by implementing a range of school enhancement and intervention services in alignment with the LSE Service Development Plan and relevant primary legislation.

You will challenge and support maintained schools. Facilitate school-to-school support when needed, and coordinate, mediate, and promote the exchange of best practices.

Maintain strong relationships with designated schools, serving as the primary point of contact for head teachers on school improvement matters.

Guide schools to additional resources as needed, including:- education inclusion, finance, human resources, legal, and safeguarding services.



Your previous experience as Senior School Improvement Manager:-

  • Demonstrated senior management experience within School Improvement
  • Local Government experience
  • Proven substantial and effective teaching experience in at least one key stage; preferably two
  • Proof of in-depth phase-specific knowledge and understanding of schools and their systems that allow one to function as a leader of learning as well as a leader of personnel
  • Enhanced DBS certificate
