Role: Qualified Social Worker- Duty and Assessment
Location: Northampton Children's Trust
Team: Assessment
Pay: Up to £38 ph
Contract: Full-time Locum
Are you a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker looking to make a positive difference in children’s lives? Northampton Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Social Worker to join our Duty and Assessment Team.
About the Role
As a Qualified Social Worker in our Duty and Assessment Team, you will be on the front lines, conducting assessments, managing risk, and making crucial decisions for children and families. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent communication skills, thorough assessment capabilities, and a deep commitment to child protection and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial assessments and make informed decisions based on children’s safety and welfare
Manage a caseload of complex cases, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met
Engage with children, families, and other professionals to create comprehensive assessments and support plans
Work collaboratively within the Duty and Assessment Team to provide immediate support for children and families in need
Attend strategy meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings as required
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Proven experience in a Duty and Assessment or frontline child protection role
Strong understanding of child safeguarding practices, legislation, and procedures
Excellent communication and assessment skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
