Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Reading
Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum + Benefits
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), flexible working hours between 7:30am - 6:00pm
On-Call: 1 in 5 call outs, £115 standby fee (£1,200 extra per year)
Overtime: Available
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Electrical Engineer for a static healthcare site in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, hands-on engineer with strong leadership abilities to oversee a team of engineers and subcontractors while ensuring smooth operation of all electrical maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment across the healthcare site.
* Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of engineers and subcontractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
* Take responsibility for electrical installations, fault finding, repairs, and general maintenance tasks.
* Conduct periodic inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
* Respond to emergency callouts, providing a swift and efficient resolution of electrical issues.
* Ensure that maintenance records are kept up to date and in line with statutory regulations.
* Liaise with other departments and contractors as required to ensure all aspects of electrical maintenance are covered.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Level 3 Electrical Installations Qualification (or equivalent).
* 18th Edition
* Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a healthcare or similar critical environment.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing engineers and subcontractors.
* Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
