Finance Risk and Assurance Manager

This is a great job for someone who has knowledge and experience of financial reporting controls, and Ideally from an audit background.

A bit about the job:

The role is required to support the execution of risk and control assurance activity for Aviva Investors Finance. This role helps to maintain responsibility for oversight of the Financial Reporting Control Framework (FRCF) within Aviva Investors Finance and Operational Risk and Control Management (ORCM) for Finance, Legal and Company Secretarial. The role's purpose is to help the team provide assurance to the CFO and Legal Executive regarding the efficiency of Aviva Investors' control environment in financial and non-financial reporting. Ensuring effective and embedded risk management is imperative at Aviva and as part of this role you will play a key part in ensuring an appropriate culture is in place to support and improve the risk and control environment. The role provides an opportunity to help upskill the Finance, Legal and Company Secretarial community in understanding what a good control environment looks like and to emphasise the role that they must play in this regard. On a day-to-day basis you will be contributing to the day to day management of the Finance, Legal and Company Secretarial Risk environment under FRCF and ORCM, ensuring a high standard of delivery in all aspects of work ranging from control design and testing to issue and risk event management and Risk assessments. You will also represent the team on adhoc team projects, and contribute to the AI payments governance process ensuring an effective payments governance process exists within AI.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Risk and controls delivery experience and ideally from an audit background
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry and ideally the investment management industry.
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines whilst maintaining high quality of outputs
  • Building positive relationships with collaborators to achieve objectives through effective communication and teamwork
  • Qualified accountant or suitably qualified by experience with significant experience in the application and operation of financial controls
