My client is part of a large Engineering Contractor that delivers specialist services across the UK. This part of the business is focussed on regulated nondiscretionary purchase services in which they are one of the most recognised providers.
Job Purpose:
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for generating new business by bringing on new accounts and generating sales from both new and current clients. This will be achieved through a range of methods including networking, direct selling and inter-company collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Research and identify new sales prospects through multiple prospecting techniques– including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets.
* Attend client meetings and site surveys as required.
* Prepare quotations in conjunction with the design team.
* Prepare tender submissions.
* Deliver presentations on the business’s products & services
* Explore sales leads with existing and potential new clients
* Understand the needs of clients and respond effectively
* Structured targeting of clients across all sectors to win new business
* Be client facing through visiting and online meetings
* Effective networking with potential clients
* Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
* Develop sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to Senior Management
About you:
* You take ownership, taking responsibility for the service standards
* You are a strong people person with humility.
* You have strong communication and coaching skills,
* You can use data to identify where service standards are failing and where to prioritise.
* You ideally have experience of maintenance and service contracts in an engineering context,
* Experience of supporting clients with their objectives and responding to escalations.
* You are a highly motivated individual naturally, with a positive outlook.
* You are extremely focused on providing excellent service.
* You are a natural collaborator, working effectively with colleagues
* You have a courteous and attentive demeanour with clients.
* You are very proficient in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
