SAP MDM Consultant


Shropshire (Office-based approx. 8 times per month)


Salary: £70,000 - £95,000 (permanent role) depending on candidates experience

We are looking for an experienced SAP Master Data Governance/Management (MDM) Consultant to contribute to critical data initiatives and drive the success of our transformation programmes. This role offers a blend of hands-on work and leadership responsibilities, providing the opportunity to collaborate with various business functions and stakeholders to streamline data management processes.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the end-to-end SAP MDM implementation, ensuring effective governance and data quality.
  • Take ownership of Master Data processes, from the initial strategy and framework development to day-to-day operations.
  • Work hands-on to configure, customise, and enhance SAP MDM to meet the business's evolving needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders from various departments (Finance, Supply Chain, IT) to ensure the governance framework aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data specialists and provide direction on best practices for SAP MDM.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards and regulations.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, to communicate progress and address any challenges.
  • Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions to business users on SAP MDG/MDM functionalities.
  • Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proven expertise in SAP MDM, with a strong track record of successful implementations and ongoing management.
  • Demonstrated experience in master data management and governance frameworks across large-scale organisations.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring and enhancing SAP MDM, including data models, UI modelling, BRF+, and workflow.
  • Strong understanding of SAP integration points with other SAP modules such as MM, SD, FICO, and HCM.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid experience in stakeholder management, with a focus on ensuring alignment between business and technical teams.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while handling multiple priorities.
  • A consultative mindset with problem-solving abilities and a drive for continuous improvement.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in data governance and data quality management in a SAP environment.
  • SAP MDG & or MDM certification would be a very strong advantage.
  • Experience in working with SAP S/4HANA environments.
