Job Description

Responsibilities

Investment Managers work with Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) and Wealth Planners (WPs) to provide investment solutions (Discretionary (DPM) and Advisory (ADV)) to clients and prospects.

You will manage investment accounts (DPM and ADV) in line with client mandate/restrictions, group investment policy, and regulations.

Management of Portfolios
  1. Ensure portfolios are managed in line with client mandate/restrictions, SG and KH policy and that strategy changes are implemented promptly with agreed bookbuilds.
  2. Ensure efficient execution of trades.
  3. Understand client/regulatory restrictions and tax position and manage portfolios accordingly.
  4. Contribute to efficiency and simplification through ongoing collaboration with the Portfolio Implementation Team.
Contribute to Investment Performance
  1. Contribute ideas to deliver investment performance via asset class specialist groups, huddles, or other forums; KHIC, MCG.
  2. Write up briefing notes on any investment ideas, share around team and collaborate with peers across group when applicable.
Business Development
  1. Promote, consistently within the client expectations, the full product range available in KH based on their market knowledge (ie Advisory, Discretionary).
  2. Work closely with CRMs and provide clients with specific allocation and products in line with i) the client risk profile, ii) the KH investment strategy and iii) the local regulation.
  3. Present the bank offer internally and externally as required.
  4. Provide input into the design and content of marketing materials.
Operating Risk and Regulatory Responsibilities
  1. Complete ongoing Continual Professional Development (CPD) to maintain a valid Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) from a professional body.
  2. When managing funds, ensure full compliance with relevant regulation.
  3. Perform all duties in line with SG and KH procedures.
  4. Comply with relevant jurisdiction regulation and always treat customers fairly.
  5. Engage positively with the Client Solutions Group Risk and Oversight team in their checks and controls, Peer Reviews etc.
Client Communication
  1. Perform review meetings with clients explaining portfolio performance and KH strategy.
  2. Contribute to written client materials as required.
  3. Answer ad-hoc client queries as required.
  4. Provide advice to clients on their portfolios based upon KH Strategy.

The employee must know and comply with the regulations, rules and procedures, internal and external applicable in the context of its function and follow the compulsory training.

Perform all duties in accordance with the principles outlined in the SG Code of Conduct, as well as the policies and procedures relevant to your responsibilities, to ensure that you adhere to a culture that treats clients fairly and focuses on the long-term sustainability of client relationships.

Profile Required
  1. Experience and understanding of all major asset markets (equities, bonds, FX, commodities, hedge funds).
  2. Sound understanding of asset allocation and portfolio construction principles.
  3. Good understanding of investment risk management issues.
  4. Good knowledge of UK regulatory framework.
  5. Strong analytical skills.
  6. Attention to detail.
  7. Good communication skills.
  8. Competency with Microsoft Office programs (in particular Excel).
  9. Understanding of UK tax framework.
