If youre excited by the prospect of creating something magical from scratch, then read on. What the role is all about: We're seeking a Lead Engineer Platforms & Integrations (5-9 years experience). You will be joining a group of wonderful people and function in a distributed team and solve complex problems that have far reaching benefits to the business and Tech community. While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include: Collaborate with product and design teams to translate user needs into technical specifications, ensuring solutions meet user requirements. Work within value-driven teams to craft innovative customer experiences Contribute to a well-connected and knowledgeable team by sharing knowledge through sessions, mentoring other team members, and contributing to the technical roadmap and guidance to less experienced members of the team Work towards shared team goals and contribute to successful project delivery. Collaborate with team leads to define, advocate and embody best practices within the team like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming, and design patterns. Actively participate in pairing, code reviews, unit testing, and secure deployments to deliver secure and quality code. Stay updated on the latest web development trends and apply them to solve complex challenges and be a subject matter expert. Take ownership and accountability of deliverables. Mentor other team members - take lead in code pairing sessions, be a key member to share technical ideas/recommendations to help the team co-drive outcomes and tie these to deliverables and key result areas Who were looking for: Our ideal candidate will have skills in some of the following areas, whilst demonstrating both a desire and commitment to learning others. Extensive experience in designing, coding, and testing data platform/management tools and systems. Excellent knowledge of software development principles and best practices. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in platform and data engineering, such as Python, Java, orGo. Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools. Experience working with open-source tooling across platform and integrations. Understanding of data governance best practices and principles. Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Design and develop robust platform and integration capabilities to support various business needs Manage and enhance the organizations data catalogue to support data governance, privacy, and accessibility. Expertise in developing and integrating APIs, ensuring scalability and performance. Ability to ensure the operational stability and optimal performance of infrastructure and platform systems. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as Docker and or CI/CD. Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn new and complex technologies, and ability to share knowledge with the team. 5 years of experience working with platform and data engineering environments. Bonus Points for: Experience in using and managing Cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or GCP. Experience with Infrastructure as Code techniques, particularly AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK and Terraform.
