Engineering Manager
£65,000 - £70,000 Package
A leading FM Organisation are looking for an Engineering Manager for a Pharmaceutical environment in the Cambridge area. You'll oversee the team of Shift Technicians, ensuring the smooth running of the site, whilst working Monday - Friday 08:00-17:00. It's a great opportunity to join a growing contract, with £1.4 million spent expanding the site in the past 12 months!
Purpose of the Role:
Lead all plant and equipment maintenance activities on-site.
Ensure compliance with safety rules, health, and safety legislation.
Serve as the engineering operations lead for the campus, working closely with clients and contract managers.
Take ownership of key plant areas and maintain accurate records. Responsibilities Team Management:
Plan and allocate tasks for a 24/7 engineering team, including planned maintenance (PPMs) and reactive work.
Oversee team productivity, conduct quality checks, and manage performance through Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
Arrange training to maintain team competence and skills. Technical Leadership:
Perform duties as Authorised Person (AP) for specialized systems (e.g., HV-LV electrical, confined spaces) as qualified.
Act as Technical Operations Manager during absences.
Review and approve contractors' risk assessments (RAMS) and evaluate their technical competencies.
Assist in identifying training needs for site engineers and arrange necessary technical training. Compliance and Policy Development:
Develop, implement, and review maintenance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legislative and safety standards.
Maintain documentation related to health and safety for both in-house staff and subcontractors.
Support the creation of method statements and promote best practices. Stakeholder Engagement:
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders for complex maintenance activities.
Assist in resolving technical issues related to installed equipment and maintenance. Emergency and Incident Support:
