About the Role
Base Location:Aberdeen or Elgin
Salary:£29,200 - £43,800 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern:Permanent | Full Time
Are you ready to play a crucial role in safeguarding some of the most important assets across Scotland? As a Security Systems Service Engineer at SSE, you'll be at the heart of maintaining and securing SSE infrastructure, ensuring the safety and operational continuity of SSE sites. Utilising your knowledge of security technology, you'll travel across mainland Scotland and the islands, solving problems and keeping the system running smoothly. This role includes standby engineering duties across the Scottish region, so you'll need to be flexible and ready to support these arrangements. You should be comfortable working away from home when needed and must hold a valid UK driving licence. The main duties of this role include:
- Carrying out routine maintenance and responding to security system issues at SSE sites predominantly within Moray, Aberdeenshire and Angus, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Exclusively working on the security systems in SSE premises within the SSE estate of power stations, substations, offices, depots and stores.
- Identifying and troubleshoot both minor and major faults in security systems, contributing to upgrade projects where necessary.Supporting Area Managers with smaller security installation projects, and step in to help wherever your expertise is needed.
- Collaborating with your engineering team, offering technical assistance on complex issues and resolving larger faults as they arise.
- Travelling across Scotland and the islands, including working away from home.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A good level of knowledge on all aspects of security systems including CCTV, IDS and Access control. Competent in the maintenance and installation of electronic security systems.
- Highly motivated with the ability to evaluate a situation under pressure utilising your expertise, judgement skills and dynamic decision making.
- Exceptional concentration and good attention to detail along with clear, effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the desire to drive efficiency. You will need to be flexible as the role involves multi-tasking and juggling priorities.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft and Security system configuration applications.
