Your new company
Based in the centre of London, our client is a public sector organisation who are looking for a Fire Safety / Engineering Lead to work on a multimillion pound restoration project. This is a long-term contract to manage all the Fire Safety aspects of the project. The job will involve managing both internal and external consultants and provide the Fire Safety expertise.
Your new role
The site is a well known heritage site based in the heart of Central London which is going through a major restoration and renewal. The organisation is seeking a highly qualified Fire Safety Lead to manage the installation of all fire safety systems. The role will involve providing fire safety advice to consultants and other project managers working at the site. As this is a restoration and renewal project of a Heritage Building, you will also be dealing with external stakeholders such as Historic England, amongst others.In the job you will also be consulting with the Fire Safety Engineers to help with the installation of all the industry-leading fire safety systems. The job does not include design, but there will be aspects of the role where you will need to provide some design advice based on the latest Fire Safety and Building Safety Regulations.
Primarily, you will focus on Fire Safety issues and run the programme for the installation of Fire Safety systems. You will run a large team of consultants and contractors ensuring that all Fire/Building Safety regulations are adhered to.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate it is essential that you are Chartered or have all the relevant fire qualifications and have experience of running large programmes / projects.You will need to demonstrate your experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders, consultants and contractors in a leadership capacity.
Although desirable, if you have experience of managing listed or heritage sites, it will really enhance your application. Having an understanding of fire engineering and design will also be highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of the Fire Safety and Building Safety Acts is essential, as is experience of being the lead on large multimillion pound Fire Safety projects and programmes.
