Job Description
Mechanical Manager | South Wales
Our client, a tier 1 Main Contractor are currently seeking a Mechanical Manager to oversee a major new build project in South Wales.
The ideal candidate will have £100m plus project experience ideally working with Main Contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all mechanical services on the project
• Coordinate with project teams, architects, and engineers to ensure mechanical systems align with overall project goals.
• Oversee and manage subcontractors responsible for the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Ensure compliance with mechanical design specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management on timelines and budgets.
• Resolve any technical issues related to mechanical works that arise during the construction phase.
• Conduct quality checks, inspections, and tests to ensure systems are installed and operating to required standards.
• Manage mechanical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and as-built records.
• Support health and safety policies on-site, ensuring all mechanical work is performed safely.
Key Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Manager, ideally on large-scale construction or new build projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems
• Experience managing mechanical contractors and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
