Job Description
This opportunity is with a global telecommunications company currently in an exciting period of growth. This role will sit within the commercial legal team and offer transactional support to the business across the UK and Europe while supporting with cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating both standard and non-standard commercial agreements for provisions of service and advising on potential issues.
- Assisting with RFPs and contracts, including negotiating new agreements and managing ongoing contract matters (interpreting terms, amendments, and providing initial support on disputes before handing over to the litigation team).
- Offering legal support for various matters including sales contracts, HR and leases/facilities.
- Assisting senior lawyers with complex transactions or other legal matters as needed.
- Updating senior stakeholders and escalating issues promptly when necessary.
- Actively engaging with internal stakeholders to support on deals to point of completion.
- Providing training on legal and related issues concerning commercial agreements or processes to the wider business and sales teams.
- Supporting various best practice documentation projects, including creating and updating standard templates and serving as a point of contact for assigned cross-functional projects.
- Conducting legal research and analysis, and drafting opinions and position papers.
Skills, qualifications and core strengths:
- England & Wales qualified lawyer, with approximately 5 years PQE as a guideline
- Knowledge and experience in the telecommunications sector.
- Exceptional technical drafting skills with a solid grasp of contract law.
- Ability to work both autonomously as well as collaborating effectively with the legal team and exercising good judgment in escalating issues when necessary.
- Desire to work in an unstructured, fast-paced, and multicultural environment.
- A motivated and proactive individual who can provide solutions and resolve matters promptly.
- Knowledge/experience of the civil law system
- Experience negotiating multi-jurisdiction contracts and deals
