£65,000 - £70,000 + Bonus Scheme (up to 30% of Salary)

Role Overview
As the Financial Controller you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing the financial processes within our business. You will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, analysing profit and loss statements, and providing insightful business performance reporting as well as managing the team. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a high-growth, fast-changing environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts: You will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, ensuring that financial data is correctly recorded and reported, providing a clear picture of the company's financial health.
- Manage the finance team: Manage the day to day running of the finance team, whilst providing guidance and support to junior finance team members and ensuring they contribute effectively to the team’s objectives.
- Monthly P&L Analysis: Conduct detailed profit and loss analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Your insights will help guide strategic decisions and improve business performance.
- Manage the Annual Audit: Lead the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation, reconciling accounts, and addressing auditor queries, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist departments and head of finance in producing the annual budget and forecasts.
- Review monthly payroll: Check payroll, ensuring all adjustments are included.
- Commission Calculations: Accurately calculate and process commission payments, ensuring that all payments are made in accordance with the company's compensation structure and timelines.
- Complete VAT Returns: Ensure that VAT returns are completed accurately and submitted on time, complying with all relevant tax regulations and minimising any risk of penalties.
- Interpreting and Communicating Financial Data to Non-Financial Managers: Translate complex financial information into clear and concise reports that can be easily understood by non-financial managers, aiding them in making informed decisions.
- Assist in Ad-hoc Projects: Participate in various ad-hoc projects, such as the development and improvement of finance business processes, ensuring that the finance function remains aligned with overall business objectives.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented invoicing specialist. The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Accountant: You must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, demonstrating expertise in financial reporting and analysis. 2nd time mover from practice preferable.
- High Attention to Detail, Completeness, and Reconciliation of Information: A meticulous approach to work is essential, with an emphasis on ensuring all financial data is accurate, complete, and fully reconciled, reducing the risk of errors in financial reporting.
- Financially Numerate with Strong Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel is crucial for managing financial data, creating models, and performing complex analyses that support business decision-making.
- Ability to Work Effectively within a High Growth, Fast-Changing Business: Experience in dynamic and fast-paced environments is necessary, with the ability to adapt quickly to changes and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Great Team Working Skills, with the Ability to Support Others in the Team as Needed: You should be a strong team player, capable of collaborating with colleagues across departments and providing support to ensure team goals are achieved.
- Dynamic and Comfortable Managing Various Tasks at Once: The ability to multitask and manage a diverse workload efficiently is essential in this role, especially within a rapidly evolving business environment.
