Job Description
We have an INCREDIBLE opportunity for several Children's Care Workers to join a FANTASTIC 5-bedded Children's Residential Service in Telford rated OUTSTANDING with Ofsted, supporting children & young people between the ages of 8-18 who have experienced early childhood traumas in the Health and Social Care Sector.
Supporting young people in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, you can enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car**
Salary: up to £26,567 per year (inclusive of sleep-ins)
Location: Telford (TF1 postcode)
Hours: Full-time, 39 hrs per week
Shift pattern: 12/24/48 hour shift pattern - there is some flexibility here for the right candidates to work long days / 1 on 2 off shift pattern or 2 on 4 off shift pattern
Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities of a Children's Care Worker
To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements of a Children's Care Worker
A full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential (and you must have been driving for a minimum of 1 year) due to the location of the home and due to the requirements of the role.
Experience within a children's residential setting or with challenging behaviours is an advantage.
Candidates with experience in Sports Coaching, Camp America, the Duke of Edinborough Award, the Guiding and Scouting Movement or Youth Work would be encouraged to apply.
Must be aged 23 or over, due to the oldest child in the setting and due to the policies of the organisation.
