• Brisbane , Queensland , major metropolitan mental health service.
• Up to $500k plus oncalls etc.
• Consultant in Intellectual Disability.

In this important service, you will provide clinical leadership and care for individuals with co-occurring mental illness and intellectual or neurodevelopmental disabilities. You'll be part of a supportive team that values innovation, education, and high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team and provide expert clinical care.
• Supervise and educate registrars, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with different teams across this metropolitan health service to enhance care for people with intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research.

Selection criteria

• Experience in Psychiatry, particularly intellectual disability and neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent gained in UK or Ireland.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A desire and commitment to support both patients and their families/carers.
• Willingness to participate in education activities.
• Clinical governance experience.
