Job Description
SSEN Substation Site Supervisor needed - Perth and Kinross, Scotland
A well-respected and established client of ours are currently seeking a highly skilled Site Supervisor to join a SSEN substation project in the Perth and Kinross area. You will assist the site manager and supervise the works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information to the site manager.
This will be a 2-year project. The role itself will be a 6-month rolling contract.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site.
- Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed
- Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety
- Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner
- To provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels
- To maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively
- To perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team
- To comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions
- To support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded
- Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.
- Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.
- Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings
- Assist with the implementation of Safe Systems of Work including issuing Permits to Dig
- Set others to work and monitor throughout the task / project
Minimum Qualifications:
- Full UK driving licence
- SSE CAT1, CAT 2 & CAT 3 authorisations
- IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS
- IOSH environmental or equivalent
- CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the T&D industry in an M&E role, preferably on SSEN sites
- Previous experience in a supervisory level
- HSG47
- First Aid at Work
Desirable Qualifications:
- HNC / HND in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Formal Civil or Electrical or Mechanical training
- Impressed Voltage training
- Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience
