Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £65k + benefits (depending on experience)

Strong connections exist with London South Bank University and several local Grammar schools, particularly Wilmington Grammar School for Boys, which holds specialist engineering school status. Managing Director Alex Hill has served on the Governing Body of Wilmington Grammar School for Boys.
Your Role:
Our client is presently in search of a Senior Building Services Engineer to join their Birmingham office. The chosen candidate will assume responsibility for furnishing engineering assistance to the practice, bringing forth expertise in electrical engineering within the built environment for design and project management objectives.
* Arrange meetings with clients to define project requirements and devise economically viable engineering solutions.
* Ensure designs fulfil functional necessities while adhering to pertinent legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guidelines, building regulations, and industry best practices, taking into account environmental implications.
* Interact with regulatory bodies regarding issues impacting incoming building services.
* Generate budget estimates for client assessment and develop tender documents.
* Oversee site activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to specification standards.
* Inspect existing installations, compile condition reports, and reconcile contractor final invoices.
* Strive to achieve target fees established by the Practice.
Essential qualifications, expertise, and attributes:
A degree or master's qualification in Engineering.
Preferably a member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and/or The Energy Institute, or equivalent.
Chartered Engineer status or working towards achieving it.
Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Proven track record of consistently meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in utilising IES (Mechanical) or Amtech (Electrical) design software.
Competence in AutoCAD and Revit software applications.
Familiarity with pertinent legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guidelines, building regulations, and industry best practices.
