Job Description
EDC seeks Data Managers for the collection, compilation, verification, research and dissemination of energy data, and their use in IEA modelling tools. The chosen candidates will participate in the energy data related activities that underpin the Agency's work on global energy challenges, including that on clean energy transitions. These activities include, but are not limited to:
- Data collection, validation and development: Collect, process, disseminate, and manage data and information based on governance and legal requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of methods to ensure data quality and international comparability.
- Implement robust methods for the estimation of missing values and develop derived indicators and metrics.
- Identify new data sources and collection methods to track relevant areas of national and global energy systems.
- Maintain appropriate documentation on data series, and contribute to methodological and technical notes.
- Participate in the maintenance and development of statistical databases.
- Provide guidance to internal and external users on data preparation and interpretation.
- Participate in the production of statistical and analytical publications, reports and data products.
Qualifications
A university degree in fields relevant for energy data, i.e. statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, computer science, information technology, engineering, physics, environmental studies. A postgraduate degree in one of these fields would be an advantage. At least two to three years of experience in the production and/or use of data or statistics gained in the private sector, university, public research institute, national administration or international organisation.
Strong communication skills, including capacity to present technical content to non-technical audiences. Experience performing data processing and analysis using programming languages such as Python, R, and Matlab. Experience in developing visuals with business intelligence software, such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Plotly/Dash would be considered a significant advantage.
Languages
Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
Additional Information
Closing Date: 10 November 2024 (CEST). Contract Duration: 13-month fixed term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.
What the OECD offers
Depending on level of experience, monthly salary starts at 4432 EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt of French income tax.
