Good Afternoon,
I am currently representing West Sussex Council, who are offering a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate of £38,865 - £57,544 depending on experience.
We are looking for an Educational Psychologist this role will be: PO19 1RG (Hybrid)
The right candidate will:
* We are seeking candidates who have a wide range of experience of working with children and young people across the age ranges (from 0-25) around 40% of our case load are pre-school children so it is particularly important that they have experience in this area.
* We also require candidates who have experience of providing advice and support for schools on provision and strategies to support a wide range of need across the four areas of need: Cognition and learning ranging from severe learning difficulties to specific difficulties; language and social communication difficulties, a high proportion children with work with are autistic both with significant impairments and those that are higher functioning ; medical and sensory difficulties; and those with social emotional and mental health difficulties.
* Work in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Special Educational Needs and Intervention Business plan and the business plan of the Educational Psychology Service.
* Work with children, young people and their families and teachers within a designated geographical area and outside of this when required.
We require the following:
* Experience of applying psychology with children and young people.
* An Honours Degree in Psychology or recognised equivalent qualification
* Substantial relevant experience working with children in education or children’s services or both
* Successfully followed a course of specific post graduate professional training as an educational psychologist
* Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development in line with the job description Desirable
* Recent successful training or experience as an educational psychologist
* Teaching or other experience in more than one sector of education or work with children and young people Desirable
* Knowledge of applying Psychology in practice
* Awareness of the opportunities and challenges in the current professional context Desirable
