The role and what youll be getting up to on a day to day basis:

As the Competency Lead, you will be part of the Consultancy Services team (DevOps Consultants, Engineers and Architects), tasked with designing, costing, and presenting technical solutions for existing and potential future customers.

Reporting to the Head of Professional Services, you will collaborate with external clients and vendors, as well as internal Service Account Managers and Business Development Managers. Your role will involve delivering Customer Strategy sessions to help customers develop their IT Strategy and Roadmap.

To excel in this role, you should have a proven track record in designing and delivering innovative technology solutions on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, possessing deep expertise in Azure and DevOps. You should excel in engaging with customers at all levels, from building relationships with senior/C-level leadership to guiding development teams on creating cloud-native solutions, while demonstrating strong communication and presentation skills.

Extensive experience in creating Azure platforms, leveraging Azure DevOps capabilities to streamline development processes, and ensuring high-quality deliverables is essential. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear language for both technical and non-technical audiences, combined with your expertise in designing, implementing, and migrating systems to Azure, will be highly valued.

Your main duties will include

  • Design and deliver innovative technology solutions built on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, leveraging deep expertise in Azure and DevOps.
  • Create platforms on Microsoft Azure, focusing on leveraging Azure DevOps capabilities to streamline development processes and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Design and implement cloud-native systems, as well as migrate existing systems to Azure, utilising Azure services such as Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, utilising Azure Repos for source control management, Azure Boards for agile project management and work item tracking, and Azure Pipelines for automating builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Design and deploy containerised applications on Azure using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Utilise monitoring and logging solutions like Azure Monitor and Azure Application Insights to ensure the health and performance of deployed applications.
  • Articulate the benefits of Azure and DevOps to both technical and non-technical audiences as a thought leader.
  • Lead architectural engagements, taking ownership of the successful delivery of customer value within consulting engagements.
  • Conduct workshops, design sessions, and architecture reviews to guide customers in adopting Azure best practices and optimizing their cloud deployments.
  • Add value to engagements by showcasing the capabilities of Azure and DevOps and alleviate customer's perceived risk by positioning the appropriate professional services.
  • Demonstrate how Azure and DevOps can be leveraged to ensure successful project delivery, enhance collaboration between consultancy services and the customer's development teams, and provide transparency throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Establish trust with customers by showcasing expertise and ability to deliver results using Azure and DevOps methodologies.
  • Design, cost, and present technical solutions for existing and potential future customers as part of the Consultancy Services team.
  • Collaborate with external clients and vendors, as well as internal Service Account Managers and Business Development Managers.
  • Deliver Customer Strategy sessions to help customers develop their IT Strategy and Roadmap.
  • Drive clients' success and position Littlefish as a trusted partner in their digital journey by leveraging passion for Public Cloud technologies and digital transformation.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language for both technical and non-technical audiences.

What are we looking for in the successful candidate?

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform, Azure services (e.g., Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Cosmos DB), and DevOps principles and practices.
  • Ability to design innovative, future-proof, and cloud-native solutions that address complex business problems and align with customer needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and to deliver engaging presentations and workshops.
  • Ability to collaborate with and manage diverse stakeholders, including external clients, vendors, and internal team members, while building strong relationships at all levels of the customer's organization.
  • Capability to develop and deliver customer strategy sessions, helping customers align their IT strategy and roadmap with their business objectives.
  • Expertise in implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, leveraging Azure Repos, Azure Boards, and Azure Pipelines for efficient development processes and high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong grasp of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and the ability to design and deploy containerized applications on Azure.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions like Azure Monitor and Azure Application Insights to ensure the health and performance of deployed applications.
  • Ability to lead architectural engagements, take ownership of project success, and deliver customer value within consulting engagements.
  • Skill in establishing trust with customers by showcasing expertise, demonstrating the value of Azure and DevOps, and mitigating perceived risks through appropriate professional services positioning.
