Job Description

Maintenance Engineer (Full Time)

Main responsibilities:

  • As the Maintenance Engineer, you will synchronize the highest standards of general maintenance and repairs in the guest rooms,public areas & heart of house

  • In addition you will showcase your expertise by exercising good judgment and a strong intuition to anticipate the needs of the guests, and meet their existing concerns.

  • Monitor and maintain quality throughout the entire hotel bythe implementation of the maintenance programs for our hotel.

  • Responsible for the reactive and preventive maintenance of the Hotel sit, to ensure it remains a functional, pleasant and safe environment for all employees, guests and visitors

  • Manage maintenance projects and work in accordance with Accor's quality requirements

  • Perform effective diagnosis of breakdowns and organise a timely repair.

  • Perform scheduled planned preventative maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime of equipment and rooms

  • Document breakdowns, identifying root cause and bring remedial actions to help prevent recurring issues

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety as well environmental regulations and procedures

  • Undertake risk assessments of processes and tasks as needed and devise and implement safe systems of working to ensure the health and safety of staff, guests and visitors

  • Organise and supervise team members in their day to day task, providing instructions and support, if needed

  • Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs

  • Work with GM's to elaborate maintenance budget and ensure compliance of our hotel

  • Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements



Work Experience

  • Good written and verbal communication, organizational and problem solving skills that will allow you to complete every task with the utmost professionalism.

  • An ability to work under pressure and remain poise and professional in every situation.

  • A can-do, positive attitude that highlights your technical skills and abilities.

  • An ability to naturally engage with guests and show empathy while meeting their challenges.

  • Strong technical skills, Mechanical, HVAC or Electrical experience, HVAC certification a plus. Refrigeration, Painting and plumbing will be required.

  • Basic H&S awareness

  • Able to work alone

  • Able to work from heights

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Ability to use own initiative
